From the Floor to the Frontlines: Our 50-Second Deep Dive into Call of Duty: Next

At JED Lab, we don’t just watch gaming history—we capture it. On October 5, 2023, the world’s eyes were on the Call of Duty: Next event, and our global creator team was on the ground to distill two days of high-octane energy into one explosive, 50-second action recap.

The Vision: Pure Momentum

Our goal was simple but ambitious: create a video that feels as fast as the new Modern Warfare III movement mechanics. To do this, we leveraged three pillars of modern production:

  • Hyperlapse Storytelling: We used hyperlapse sequences to bridge the gap between the massive creator lounge and the digital battlefield. You’ll see the venue transform from a calm setup to a 250-creator powerhouse in the blink of an eye.

  • The "Match Cut" Magic: We synchronized real-world controller clicks and creator reactions with the exact frame of in-game impact. When a player slides into a Tac-Stance takedown on screen, our edit matches that motion with a camera whip in the lab.

  • Cinematic Fusion: By blending live-action floor footage with high-fidelity Urzikstan in-game cinematics, we created a seamless loop where the boundary between the creator and the game disappears.

Capturing the Chaos

The 2-day event was a whirlwind of reveals. From the first drop into the Popov Power Plant to the nostalgic return of Highrise and Rust, our lens was there. We captured the intensity of the C.O.D.E. Bowl VI and the eerie first look at the open-world Zombies mode.

Why 50 Seconds?

In the world of social media, 50 seconds is the sweet spot for a "thumb-stopping" recap. It’s enough time to showcase the Slide Cancelling revival and the new drivable train in Warzone, but fast enough to leave viewers wanting more.
